Subject: 9976 picker dust in engine update

Wallis, TX

We took the whole air intake/filtration system off the machine.  Found dust all the way up the system, hoses, pipes, filter can, even behind the secondary filter.  Customer said he found the inner filter loose after he bought the machine,,,, so,,,, we're thinking the outer filter was left loose as well prior to his purchase.  Wore out the liners, one piston had top ring gone, taking out the turbo exhaust turbine in the process.  However, by some miracle, the crank checks out, as does the cam.  Looking at all the imbedded dirt in the bearings you'd think the crank was junk, just not the case.

We have the air to air at radiator shop checking if for leaks just to be sure and are having them clean it. (We will replace hoses as well.)  No word from machine shop on head if guides and valves are good or not. We never took them out, just sent it off.
