Subject: Pulling gooseneck trailer with semi

I've got a 24' gooseneck livestock trailer and there are times when I would rather use the semi  then the pickup to haul families out to pasture.   It won't work to replace the ball hitch on the trailer with a kingpin, since I don't have air slide on the 5th wheel.

So, I am wondering if there is any problem using a hide a ball hitch and mounting it on the frame behind the 5th wheel.   Flipping the ball around when not used would keep it out of the way of the 5th wheel when hooking up to a semi trailer.   I realize I'd have to change the mounts a little on the hide a ball hitch since they are made for a pickup frame, and I'd have to hook up an electric brake connection.

Any advice appreciated.   The automatic trannys are getting tired in both pickups.
