Subject: JD 3430/3830 or 946 Windrower?

West Central Indiana
What do you look for in a used 3430 or 3830 windrower? Were they dependable? Also I have a few trouble spots where we could only get a machine 10' wide into. Is it simply to take the head on and off to say load it on a headcart? Also considering a JD 946 MOCO but don't know how I could get that through the 10' spots. I saw in some literature that Deere one time had a trailer for the 946 & 956 to transport it sideways but I can't find any used. Thoughts?
