Subject: Proper technique when booming down an excavator...

IN
please educate me. 50,000 lb machine has eyes in both the front and rear lower body. Should chains be crossed? I see locals just using screw type binders from the track pads to the outer frame rail of the trailer.(all 4 corners) Is this a good idea?

Getting ready to order 9200 lb 3/8 binders from 1st-chainsupply.com. If I use chains should they be long enough to hook back on themselves or just long enough to fasten the hook to the lash rings and the lower frame eyelets?

Thanks in advance!
