Subject: Windows likes to freeze up

Central, MN
Running a windows vista home premium with 8 gigs of mem and a quad core processer. It's two and a half years old and has been a great machine until it started freezing up a couple weeks ago. Tried to do a system restore back before the problems started but that didn't help. So I figured windows must of been mest up, so I reloaded the operating system thinking that would fix it. Well after all that work it still freezes 5 or 10 minuetes after starting it. The mouse and keyboard won't work and neither does Ctrl Alt Delete so I do a hard reboot by holding in the power button. If I can get it to run the first half hour it will probable keep going, but then the next time it will freeze up again after starting it up.

Has anyone got an idea of what I should try next? Seems like an operating system problem but could it be hardware? I've run Anti virus scans and checked for malware and it comes up clean.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
