Subject: Transporting a planter.

SE Nebraska
I'm looking at purchasing a new to me planter. Unfortunately I have not been able to find anything locally so I have been looking at dealers further away. I really like the Kinze center pivot planters, but am also considering a White or JD with the 2 pt hitch hookup. Here is the million dollar question. How far can you pull a planter assuming you remove the drive chains and make sure the wheel bearings have plenty of grease. Can I pull a 16 row Kinze center pivot behind a 3/4 ton pickup safely? I also have a single axle semi that I could use. Can I chain a quick hitch on the back of my semi to pull the planters that have a 2 pt mount? I keep hoping something will turn up locally, but I need to be prepared if nothing does.

TIA
