| Two parter here. First, I have always used FRAM oil filters on my vehicles. Why, most likely because (i'm sure many can relate) that's what dad always used, and I always thought they were a premium filter so to speak. But a couple weeks ago I watched a comparison video on a variety of oil filter brands and I got the impression that FRAM is built cheap and not near as good as some others. Thoughts? What do you consider a premium brand of filter? How much thought do you put into a filter?
Secondly, I have ran Shell Rotella 15W40 in all my diesel pickups and always had real good luck with it. However my newer one calls for 10W30. Thoughts? There is a Rotella 10W30 that I will probably go with. Anyone run AMSOIL? They make a diesel 10W30. | |
