nc ks | My son dropped his Dell laptop on the hardwood floor. It is not recognizing the hard drive now so it won't boot into Windows 7. I took a peek inside the hard drive while it is still connected, and when you power up the computer, the recording head makes a few swipes across the disk and then the computer goes to the screen where it is asking you for a boot source of some kind. I went to the diagnostics and everything checks out except it doesn't find the hard drive. A new Western Digital hard drive exactly like the one in the laptop is only $40 on Amazon. Do you think it is only the hard drive that is bad? If I get a new hard drive will it be plug and play if I find a Dell boot CD? I don't think we have a CD(but we may somewhere). Is there a source for the CD if we don't find one here? | |
