Dell 4600 was running stupid pavjobs.exe part of Panda antivirus garbage that you can not stop through task manager anymore ( used to be able to) I did power shut down holding down power button as it was unresponsive. Now it goes and runs Dell Bios screen then goes to black screen with blinking cursor in top left corner and does nothing more. Only options are F2 and F12 neither gets me anywhere can't get to safe mode to restart last known good configuration. Running on a backup tower right now but might have lost all contacts emails and stuff on hard drive. Just about tops off the way the rest of the day went. Any suggestions or is HD toast. Can I install a new HD and put XP on it then try to slave my old HD and recover what is on it ? or am I just out of luck. Most everything is backed up on exteral hard drive but may not be real recent. |
