NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | My wife and I decided to do a road trip today instead of RZR riding as it was a cold windy day. Drove about 60 miles North to a place that’s call Palm Canyon. You can drive to about 1/2 mile from the Palms then you need to hike the rest of the way. It wouldn’t of been a hard walk in our younger years but Karen’s knee is giving her trouble the last couple of years so we pick where we go. I miss the days where we could hike long ways, another reason to do activities when you’re young :-). No way could Karen handle the
East Glacier hikes we used to take.
Along the hike up the canyon we spotted this terantula which really surprised me as the temperature on our car was only 62 when we got there. It was soaking up the sun rays it looked to me :-). This was the first I’ve seen of one of these down
here.
If you look hard enough you can see the
Palm trees in the crevis of a valley. I’ve never seenPalm trees growing in the actual mountains before, pretty cool. If you can zoom even better. We didn’t try hiking all of the way to the trees didn’t want to risk hurting her knee any worse.
We did talk to a group of RZR riders at this place and they said there was a 8-10 mile ride that went around the back side of this mountain range that was really pretty will have to haul the RZR up to check it out some day.
