Southern Ohio | Have some acres that I split the 6 row planter 2 and 4, so naturally I have 4 rows of one hybrid and 8 of the other. Now that I think of it, some of the perimeter rows may be 2,4,2,4, etc, where I may have just continued going the same direction. Anyway, the hybrid that was in 4 boxes is a very tall hybrid that I have had reach 12' in the past. The other hybrid I have never planted before and right now, some of it is up to a foot and half shorter than the other. I had excellent emergence from both and they both look really good right now except for the height difference that is getting more noticeable. Could this possibly cause any issues for the shorter corn from the shading of the taller hybrid? Also, the majority of the acres are planted E/W. | |
