Southern Illinois | Heavy rain in southern Illinois today should just about put an end to the soybean plantings this year. We had "marginal" conditions at best the last couple of days for planting and didn't see as much progress as I expected which leads me to believe that many had already all but thrown in the towel. This heavy rain I believe will do it. Everybody is just tired of fighting it the last 8 weeks. During that time, I have been able to plant 7 days and never under any resemblance of normal conditions and still am not done. | |
