Subject: Oil companies kill the ethanol boom?

I've heard many say that the oil companies will "kill" the ethanol boom yet the following would indicate otherwise.

Just read that ADM (Archer Daniels Midland) and ConocoPhillips, an "oil company", have joined forces to make ethanol from biomass a reality.
ADM has 27,000 employees and ConocoPhillips 37,800.

Maybe doom and gloom ain't where it's at.
