Orange County NY | I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. It will not connect to the i-net dispite showing it is recieving a strong wireless signal. I get "limited connectivity". Other laptops work fine off the same modem/router. I took my laptop to a friends house and got the same limited connectivity message.
Desktop works fine off the same modem with a hardwire. Laptop will not work off the same hardwire.
Call my ISP DSL tech. After several tests and resets he says your "wireless driver" in your laptop may need to be replaced.
Anyone ever do this? How much does it cost?
Should I scrap it and buy a new one? The computer in question needs a new battery, $75- $140 depending on where you shop. Plus the repair. I only use a laptop to look around on the net while sleeping/watching TV in my recliner.
