| We upgraded from the case equivalent of your 658 to a jd 458 silage special late last summer. We primary baled silage with the case and had many break downs with it and low capacity. The JD handles silage way better and has much more capacity we never plugged it or broken anything yet. We were skeptical the JD would be better when we were looking at it since it seems to be a much simpler baler internally without all those rollers. Both balers have about 12000 bales each. I have heard the Mchale and Kuhn balers are very good for silage as well if you can find one nearby. | |
