NW Washington
I hated asparagus when I was a kid, but now it is a big treat every year when it come in season. We have even buy some from Mexico and S America once in a while out of season if it is on sale.
I usually just cook it in a covered skillet with a little olive oil and a 1/4 cup of water and just cook it until tender and then add some butter. The water should be mostly gone when it is done. It does not take long to cook, so have to pay attention.
We buy pickled asparagus at Costco too.
