West Chazy, New York | The short answer is "probably more than the tractor is worth". It's not the easiest tractor to split. The weight imbalance of the front end means you need a dolly of some kind to keep it from rotating around the axle when you move it away from the rear end, and you need to move it sufficiently far to give you room to work behind it. Depending on what equipment the shop has and the experience level of the mechanics, I'm guessing between 10 and 20 thousand. I know that's a big range, but that type of job usually gets into more than you expected once you open things up. Depending on your tractor's condition, it could easily get north of what you could sell it for or buy another one. |
