Iowa | I have to agree. I’m 37- worked off farm as an agronomist for 50+ hrs/week - would push 70 during spring, came home and farmed. My whole adult life has been work to build from nothing to actually have something. The good news - I’m getting there, the bad news — I’m coming to the realization that running that hard is hard on you. Some of it is diet, a lot of it is stress. When you leave the house at 6am headed for work, you’re grabbing breakfast pizza or donuts for breakfast and a dew to keep you going. Would I have done it differently? Don’t know, but I know people who dog it when they’re young and are Walmart greeters now and paying mortgages and car payments when they’re 80, so I guess if I die sooner that’s how it goes. | |
