SW OH | No, not even close. He was "lucky" enough to be chosen I guess. There have been several that after 6 months or so either quit or went back to being a shovel holder. Too much stress, phone calls, angry wives, etc.
Bobby was well known to eat anything. People would bring strange things just to watch him. The hottest peppers, chocolate covered insects, haggis, anything they could, and never turned anything down.
A laborer told me once they were putting in pipe when they cut through another existing pipe that was not marked. The laborer says "Bobby, that's sanitary". Bobby says "no, that's got to be storm, the sanitary is over there". So he puts his hand under the broken pipe, gets a hand full and puts it in his mouth. "Yep, that's sanitary alright". He spot it out and kept right on working like it was nothing.
