| We had an independent film shot in our neighborhood years ago. It was called Lonesome Jim and started Casey Affleck, Liv Tyler, and Steve Buscemi. The cast and crew all stayed at an inn down the road next to one of our rental farms. Those small independent films have no budget, the actors basically worked on it for free for the writer. They wanted to use our farm to shoot some scenes but they wanted us to shut down for two weeks in April and do it for free. We said no thanks. Which was a good decision because I almost got into a fight with Casey Afleck at a bar. He was drunk and a huge animal rights whacko, as a joke, somebody told him I was a dairy farmer. Anyways, the point I was trying to make is those type of films have no budget. | |
