Subject: RE: COVID antibody ‘lifespan’

Faunsdale, AL
It mutates because when it copies it’s genetic material it screws up every now and then.

There’s no other reason, but there are results....

Sometimes that mutation is good for the virus and makes it more infectious.....more virus particles.

Sometimes it’s less infectious, so bad for that virus.

Sometimes it’s more deadly, bad for the virus if it kills its host too quickly before it can spread to other hosts.

Sometimes it’s less severe which is good for the virus if that makes it more likely to spread to other people.

Above all, the virus doesn’t care. It just is.

A “cold” is possibly a bunch of things, including viruses but in general use is a disease that isn’t severe or certainly not deadly in normal people.

Influenza is a virus but there’s also a bacteria named Haemophilus influenzae.

Grouping COVID-19 virus in the “cold” group as a way to minimize its importance is stupid since it certainly causes death in some patients and serious illness in many more. Obviously not like a common cold.

Try again!
