SE Arkansas
It’s rare to see a tractor pulling a subsoiler around here any more. When I grew up on the farm back in the 60s and 70s, we did it every year. I had soil samples taken on my farm about 5 years ago and they could hardly pull samples. They recommended ripping it and my buddy who farms it did just that. I guess the idea is that we don’t do the field work that we performed pre-Roundup Ready and compaction isn’t a serious issue. I don’t know if I’ll ever farm again, but I believe I would Rip the Sand every year.
