Beresford, SD | Been bullish for 10 months. I’m neutral today. If I’m neutral I’m never wrong :)! As a cattle feeder, I’m very thankful I was bullish last fall at harvest procuring feed inventory over my own production. Problem is with my math the cattle probably will only add 1/2 the gain on that inventory vs. hauling it to the E-plant. Maybe that’s just greedy thoughts and I should be content with my gains and hedge the cattle......Not.....cattle I’m a perma bull! Hehehehe!
I’ll know in 2 weeks if I’m bullish grains or not. If we don’t get drenched as the jet stream moves north I’m a Uber corn bull until a week before the harvest price starts calculating. If it’s all cornless silage at that point I’m hedging 100% of my insured bushels!
