Subject: Flooring in new addition

Bon Homme County, South Dakota
I put an addition onto my grandparents’ house and I am now done sheet rocking. I have a ton of questions about flooring and painting.

1. What is the best brand of paint and primer to use and do I need to use a special type of paint in the new bathroom to help with a moisture barrier?

2. Flooring--- I want a wood look without the expense of hardwood due to kids and inside dog. What I have looked into is tile, laminate, and bamboo. What have you guys found to be the best on keeping scratch free and the best wood look? What is also the best way to keep the floor warmer in the basement? Does the extra layer for padding work for that?
