Two thoughts:

1) Add some annual ryegrass into the mixture.

2) Put out a no-till plot.  Decide what size plot you want to work with.  Seed your cover crop mixture using No-till (or Direct seeding, as some call it). Use it to compare to where you do your tillage.

I think the roots in your cover crops will help to loosen your soils, especially roots of the radish and annual ryegrass.  Also, I think your cover crop biomass overall will help to loosen your soils.

I would not spread seed and then rip. I would be concerned about getting seed too deep.
