Subject: RE: Planting Canola With a Row Crop Planter Question

McCanna, ND
This will be my 2nd time doing twin row 30” canola. A single 30” row would not cover the ground well enough. My first twin row planter was 7000 deere units with a 730 air cart. My 2nd twin row planter is a Great Plains. The Great Plains is on point for depth and spacing control compared to my first setup. I’m planting 250k seeds/ac, still a lot of Lbs per acre because my seed count is 66k/1lb.

I don’t think I’m giving up any yield, but even a 22” wide gap (big gap on twin row 30”) is plenty for canola to try and cover.
