I planted corn into 10-12" rye last year and it was our best corn. Planted green and then sprayed a couple days after, worked really well. Rye isnt alleopathic to corn, its the N tieup that gets guys. Putting some N down with the planter, and the closer to the seed the better, we put 5 gal 10-34-0 in furrow and 5 gal of 32% 0x2. Plus it had either 100 or 150lbs of 11-52-0 spread earlier. That was enough to make it to sidedress. Corn was beautiful all year and whole field averaged about 230 including the dryland corners, lots of it made close to 275 in spots
