I would definitely try a couple passes without.

Just be aware that you will have more soil clumping in the row because the coulters are not there to cut your slot. So I would pick a field and take off maybe half of them?...or do every other row? then do a couple passes and see what you like.

OR,

replace the shank with one or two coulters...kinda like the soil warrior or the Orthman strip till rig with the double coulter design.
