Subject: RE: Tile lines plugging

SE South Dakota
2019 we planted and so did other farmers in the area cover crop mixes that included tillage radish. They plugged my/our tile. Tillage radish and farm drainage tile do not mix in our area. The roots you show look just like the roots we found in plugged tile. To help your situation maybe is the fact that once we got into a dryer cycle the roots dried up and loosened in the tile and likely flowed out. That mass of roots you pictured will dry up to hardly anything. We did not repair all of the known plugged spots but did inspect one and I concluded that all will be fine.

No more tillage radish ever on our ground with tile.

Good luck, Jim J
