Subject: RE: Surestop row clutches for Kinze 3500

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Surestops like virtually all row clutch systems use electricity in some form to STOP planting. This is the opposite logic of a sprayer where electricity is used to START or CONTINUE applying. Part of the idea of this "reverse" logic is to provide a fail safe arrangement where if something goes wrong the row will continue to plant.

That means that during normal operation, the clutches are engaged and continue to plant until the system sends electricity to that row or section to cause it to STOP planting. Than means most any clutch control system for planters will work with SureStops from Ag Leader.

Obviously the Ag Leader systems will work. The use a module called the Clutch Control Module for this purpose. Other brands of clutch controllers can work also but they must be able to handle the reverse logic of planter row or section control.

It would be possible to operate the SureStops with a manual switch box where the operator would turn ON a switch to STOP a row or rows from planting. This would be cheaper but would not be very handy as the operator would need to working the switches themselves which would become tedious very quickly.

GPS is required for the systems that turn the sections ON/OFF automatically for you.
