See if you can find a foot switch to engage A/B line, makes life much easier & leaves hands free for other things. As stated you need to be pretty well lined up with the A/B line to engage.. Leave steering motor against the steering wheel during turns. Only time we moved it away was when we weren't in the field working. Only takes 1 time of running your fingers between the steering wheel & motor to learn thats a "no no", spinner helps.

You can set A/B line by pressing A, driving required distance then pressoping B to set your line. We always preferred setting an A+, Thats where you set the A/B using a heading degree setting.. Can also due a "ckntour" or "pivot" Sorry, been too long to tell you how to set them without looking at the 500. Should be able to "google" videos that will walk you through everything.
