SW OH | Very possible. The city of Lebanon used to generate their own electric up till The 70s. As far as I know they are still there and functional. The fuel tanks are still there and the radiators are still on the roof. I haven't been in the building in over 20 years. There is 1 5,000 HP Allis Chalmers turbine that can be online within 3 minutes of someone walking in the door. It is wired to the police station, fire station, sheriff's department, city building, bandaid station, and a few other critical facilities. There are 3 5,000 HP and 1 20,000 HP engines that can be started on diesel and when up to temperature can run on 20%diesel, 80% natural gas. It takes about 3 hours to get them up to temperature and online. Here is an advertisement for one of the 5,000 HP gensets going in the building. That's my dad on the left.
