Tuscola, IL | Maybe I’m thinking about this wrong but, shouldn’t the shock be fully extended with no weight applied to it? I’ve never personally replaced one on a JX so I’m not 100% sure what you’re dealing with. But, the way I’m thinking about it and the way all the hood shocks I’ve replaced work, the shock assists with opening the hood so it should have resistance being retracted and extend on its own? Sounds like you have a bad hood shock. | |
