South Central MN | Soybean seed size has some base in the genetics of the plant, but what most see is the weather stress from last year. I'd rather plant small seeded soybeans that end up producing big beans, then going the other way. Since they are sold by seed count per unit anyways the smaller ones are easier to handle. So far I have not seen any differences in emergence or things like that, had a small seeded type conventional bean a few years ago that did just fine in the end. | |
