Why not let it stop and take advantage of the fuel savings. If you program it not to turn off I believe you have to do that every time you turn it off, kind of like a reset back to energy saving parameters.
Because fuel is a trivial cost. The 6 quart difference it will make in a year just isn't going to break me. My engine has an off switch, I'll shut it off if I want it off. If the manufacturers want to make that a feature, fine, but leave it to the owner's decision whether or not to enable it.
