Subject: Planting Beans into Standing Cereal Rye + Termination

Hobby farm here.. A few questions on planter setup when row planting (Deere/Kinze 3000 style planter) beans into standing (3'+ tall) rye:

- Do you want row cleaners? Guessing not as will tangle with the taller rye?

- Notil coulters necessary? Or work without? Mix of loamy, clay soil.. Perhaps could add weight to planter. Can add if needed.

Possible to mechanically terminate without spraying? (Not option - Landowner won't allow)

- Can drop FEL down to about 1" off ground to help flatten or "crimp" perhaps. (Planter only a 2 row, 3 pt so, will be inside FEL dimensions).

- Or just mow tops off at about 15" high over beans a couple weeks after planting? Before seeds harden, then just let die naturally.. (?)

Lastly, Can you plant Milo into green rye like beans above? Or will decay, allelopathy stunt growth too much? TIA
