neiowa - 5/7/2021 15:23 Not unheard of in small field, hills, and tough running to charge a fold fee. That's where I would start.
So how would you charge for a 69 acre field that you never unfold the wings and fold back the booms 18 times and get chewed out for not being thee sooner?
Unwound probably charge a flat $500 and never go back. I have one regular customer that has a field where I have to fold in the wings to spray a short trail to a little patch about an acre or 2, unfold, make one turn and the patch is done than fold again to get out. This is a patch in a 385 acre field. Bring a regular that I do ALL his spraying, I do it. Otherwise, I do not spray with the wings folded in. If my 125' won't fit, I don't go there. Fold in your wings and you have no break away. If you are folded you are likely in a tight space and if you hook a tree with the boom a lifetime of spraying 69 acre fields will not cover the damages and down time. In the example given, Unwound not spray that field again and I will not spray for anyone that gives me attitude for "not being there sooner". I have some friends/customers that have affectionately called me the "spray Nazi" because when it comes to guys like you describe....... "NO SPRAYING FOR YOU".
