So far the ash are still healthy here, but the borer is 100 miles north so it’s only a matter of time.

This used to be an elm tree area, my local town featured all the elm trees on the boulevards as a feature. We have had 2 rounds of Dutch Elm disease, 40 and 15 years ago maybe? We still have a few elm in the grove, some tough fellas, but 90% died. Many many seedlings, but I don’t think many make it far.

They can be real widowmaker too when dead.

Soon we will only have maple and box elder left. And wherever a bird poops, mulberries. Sigh....
