E ND | How long have you had it? Has it always done this or not until recently? Recent purchase? 2015 Magnum has a DPF, correct? If so they can hide the smoke that you'd usually expect from some burnt oil. 1-2 quarts per 10 hours would seem excessive to me but I'm sure Case/Iveco/FPT has a spec for allowable oil consumption.
I'm with the others on oil level, they all have a sweet spot to run in and overfilling will just burn it off. Keep checking it every 4 hours and see if it keeps dropping. If it doesn't scratch a new "full" mark on the dipstick and roll on.
I've also heard of a few different examples of engines with the wrong dipstick in them. Usually a dipstick from the same engine but a different configuration that seems to fit but it's correct. Maybe give that a check per parts book. | |
