Central OK | Just my opinion but I would take either ecoboost over the 5.0. My brother has one with 140k miles that has had nothing but spark plugs and oil changes. It has ungodly power for what it is. My buddy has a 18 5.0 with the 10 speed. It has 30k miles and sounds like a 5.9 cummins with all the top end noise while it is idling. Ford says it is fine but we think that sure is a lot of noise that probably doesn't mean anything good. His also has the first year 10 speed which works decent most of the time but every now and then will shift 3 gears at once which gives a 4840 going into 8th a run for its money on the whiplash front. Everyone says the newer ones don't do that but something to know if you find a 18.
No experience with the dodges but I will never own a Fiat corporation product again after getting screwed by their love for discontinuing parts on their ag division. | |
