You bring up an excellent point about buyers going into protection mode in 08 and not buying grain.  It could happen again.  How many are in position to truly hedge this market to delivery if that happens again.  And once it starts down, it'll be deer in the headlights.  

The more things change, the more they stay the same.  There is nothing new under the sun.
