I just bought a set for a 48" deck on a Deere, they were about $14 each, I thought that wasnt expensive at all.
When I do sharpen I use a angle grinder in a vice and make sure to keep them cool, a wet towel works well for that. If the original profile is so far gone I would need a jig then its replacement time.
