There's a difference between "proving" a theory and testing it.
When you try to prove, you gather only such evidence that supports your conclusion.
When you test a theory and fail, you are forced to conclude it's true.

Thousands of conspiracy theories and wackadoodle ideas are based on "proving."
Over four hundred years ago, scientists "proved" that mice were spontaneously generated:


Until someone TESTED the theory by putting a screen over the tubs of grain. No mice
