North Central Illinois | The whole cancel culture thing is troubling to say the least. People have a right to spend their money where they choose. If those people are upset with a company they should discontinue spending money with that company. If the company fails because of that so be it. The notion that the public should demand a boycott of a person or company because of something said or done is unsettling but in this day of internet and social media, I'm afraid it is here to stay.
Corona virus was not a joke. It killed somewhere north of 500,000 people. Flu usually kills somewhere around 50,000 people. If you want to take 50,000 off of the 500,000 Covid deaths and call it 450,000 that is fine.
Privately owned social media has the right to allow or disallow content they deem false of inflammatory. This is what they did with Trump. 90% of what he posted was factually inaccurate. The only people who lie more than Trump are Mike Lindell and Lin Wood. | |
