Subject: Sprayer hard to drive straight

Caseih 3185 sprayer, takes every bit of concentration I have to keep it on the rows at pretty much any speed.

To start, the steering has been sluggish since we got it, along with the boom functions. Heard and read on here that it’s the nature of the beast and a common complaint so I have always just dealt with it.

But this year driving it has become much harder. It almost feels like the back end tries to slide out from under me, and then when I try to get control of it the sluggish steering makes me over correct. I’ve had it do that before in real soft soil but it was only a few times. It’s doing it all the time even in the well packed soil behind the planter tractor tracks.

And To throw in another variable, I also got new tires this season. I’ve adjusted the psi up and down trying to see if that helped and nothing.

It only does this in field, feels the same in the road.

Could it be a weak wheel motor? Any thoughts appreciated, TIA.
