I thought they were the same oils too but not exaclty dexos 1 spec is a bit different than the Dexos D spec the Dexos 1 spec there arout 40 Brand names that meet the spec whereas the Dexos D only has 2 options the Acdelco Light Duty or Mobil 3000 Super XE2
