I didn’t say there was no RNA in animals, plants or bacteria, it’s just that it’s not used for the permanent genetic code (genes).

If you successfully insert modified RNA into a cell, it can encode for synthesis of a protein but then it’s used up and is destroyed. This is the technique used in the current crop of mRNA vaccines. It’s in no way a modification of the genetic material of the cell.

So unless you’re a RNA virus, you are in no danger of having your genes altered by RNA whether it’s modified or not.

A company selling germ plasm like Monsanto has no interest in modifying RNA because it’s effect can only be a short period of protein synthesis......... Good for a vaccine but practically useless for changing the characteristics of a crop.

Granted, once the DNA of a living cell is modified, there will be RNA synthesized inside the cell to express the modification as proteins. But that is not transmittable to the next generation through seed like modifications to DNA.
