Homer is neat. Talketna has a good train ride and has an airport where planes fly out to Denali. We landed on a glacier on the show. Nice little hotel in Talketna. Valdez has a nice museum. 

Being able to cook your own food is a big plus. Some places, especially at cross roads, get really busy in the summer and finding a place to eat can be a problem. But never a problem getting groceries.
