sounds like kind of a cluster. Given everything you have told us I would say this is pretty much on the dealer. In the interest of keeping the peace and as a gesture of good faith, I would probably offer to spilt the freight on the duals with the dealer. If they don't go for that tell them they aren't getting anything.
