E. CO, exactly half way between NE and OK | When I worked at a Cat dealer, they had a guy that all he did was work on tracks. He had a machine on a trailer and he worked by himself. He took a track all apart, pads, links, pins, and bushings and he would either turn the pins and bushings or put new ones in. He didn't have any trouble removing the pad bolts or anything. Most tracks they would just turn the pins and bushings which would give them a new surface to ware on. He did that work out side. He may have done the track work for all their stores, I don't remember.
I had a neighbor that bought a small John Deere crawler and the bushings were wore out. He didn't think they were replaceable and I told him I thought they were. He bought new pins and bushings, I built a press and parts that we needed to press the rails apart. We put new pins and bushing in both tracks for him. All you need is a lot of "push".
